What is Qtum?
Qtum was introduced in 24 May 2017 by Qtum foundation in Singapore with Patrick Dai as its CEO. Qtum main focus and use case if creation of smart contracts with plans of becoming the public blockchain for business. Qtum is a UTXO based proof of stake smart contract platform. Qtum is a hybrid of proof of work consensus and smart contract. It adopts the gas model from Ethereum where, each transaction or function requires some amount of gas to run. Qtum has a block creation time of 2 minutes with a size of 2 MB per block. It has a staking reward of 4 qtum. It can handle up to 70 transactions per second.
