About Zilliqa
Simply put, Ziliqa is a decentralized entity that works towards processing high transactions rates complete with atomic commits, high security detail and parallelism. The team also uses their in-house language, Scilla.
To enable high through put—in the region of hundreds of thousands per second, Ziliqa is the first blockchain platform to make use of network data shards. Sharding enables linear scaling because in real sense, shards do scale as the size of the network increase but are dependent on the number of network nodes.
Ziliqa has two main entities with whom they operate: the user and the miner. The user is an external entity that uses theplatform to transfer funds or run smart contracts and the miners are the nodes in the platform who perform Ziliqa’s consensus protocol and get rewarded for their service.
