About Decred
Decred was introduced in 10 February 2016 by Decred team and Jake Yocom-Piatt as a project leader. What differs decred from bitcoin is the community based governance system it has on its blockchain. It is a hybrid of proof of stake and proof of work, making it harder to become a target of 51% attacks, less chance of transaction delays in purpose or make changes to Decred without the approval of the community. Every time a new 30 decred coins are creating decreasing 1% every 6142 blocks. Each block has an average creation time of 5 minutes with 2MB size. It can handle up to 20 transactions per second.
